Zygo'salis

A sapient relative of the more aggressive Zygo’maxim, Zygo’salis can trace their lineage back to an uplifting experiment gone awry—or perhaps astonishingly well, depending on your perspective. These anthropomorphic termites, roughly the size of a medium-sized dog, have a unique diet, subsisting on metallic minerals and pure electrical energy.

Zygo’salis have developed a rapid life cycle unique among other sapient species in the universe. Everytime they take a blow that would normally be fatal they instead enter a chrysalis re-emerging stronger than before, this also appears to have an added effect of making them nearly immune to void radiation though the exact reason for this immunity is still unknown.

Despite their evolution, Zygo’salis bear a strong resemblance to their less evolved cousins, retaining their voracious appetite for energy. Their poor self-control often leads them into trouble when it comes to satisfying their 'food' cravings. Nevertheless, they exhibit less aggression and more helpful tendencies. While a rare sight, some can even be found employed as natural power backups on smaller ships and remote stations.
