This clinic will explore effective, efficient warm-up techniques for brass players who may have limited time to devote to their warm-up routines. We will examine opinions and philosophies of historical and contemporary brass teachers about best practices and introduce warm-up literature for each instrument. The session will cover important facets of a successful warm-up for brass players as well as techniques for incorporating those exercises into an efficient, time-sensitive routine.
Clinic participants will be invited to bring their instruments to the session, and will have the opportunity to hear the warm-up exercises performed live before playing through them individually and as a group.
