In this engaging and practical session, master mouthpiece designer and performer Jody Espina guides attendees through selecting their soulmate mouthpiece. Jody will illuminate how variations in tip opening, chamber and baffle design, facing curve, and materials influence tone, resistance, and projection. He will also demonstrate how reed choice synergizes with mouthpiece characteristics for optimal performance. With live demos, participants will develop the skills to evaluate and choose mouthpieces confidently—whether for themselves, their students or ensemble sections. This clinic is ideal for band directors, private teachers, and advanced students aiming to elevate their sound through informed equipment selection.
