This month, the Troop camped out at Camp Yawgoog in Adirondacks for this year's Troop Iron Chef competition. While they were there, they hiked around the reservation, went to the trading post, and checked out their waterfront. For the Iron Chef, the secret ingredients were squash, Craisins, and cheese. However, additional ingredients could be obtained by exercising scout skills. The Sword Wielding Spuds patrol made pasta with squash sauce, garlic bread, and the dessert of Craisin brownies. The Freagles patrol made white rice with a baked squash with mozzarella cheese, marinated steak, and a coleslaw. Their dessert was special dessert pancakes with Craisins, butterscotch chips, and Maple reduction. The winning patrol was the Freagles. Everybody had a great time, and we will be returning for summer camp!
For Veterans Day, we helped the Lions Club place the flags around the Sutton Common. There were a total of 100 flags. There were 87 flags around the gazebo, and 10 around the large flag pole. There were also 3 flags on one of the benches.
