April 2024
On April 19–24, Troop 131 had a camping outing to the Nobscot Scout Reservation in Wayland, MA.
At this campout, we had a lot of fun. On Saturday, after we ate breakfast, we found a trail to a field inside of our campsite and played capture the flag. (top-left) After lunch, we all left the site and went and did an orienteering course. (middle-left) In an orienteering course, you have to orient a map to your compass and look for a special marker nearby the trail. (sometimes it isn't on the trail, and you have to look very hard.) Finally, at 8:17, we went on a hike to the top of Tippling Rock to look at the amazing view of the city nearby.
At the campout, we cooked every meal we ate (exept breakfast on Sunday). For breakfast on Saturday, we had pancakes with either bacon or sausage. For lunch , one patrol had grilled PB&J Sandwitches, and the other patrol had kebabs. (Bottom-left) For dinner, we had Kung pao chicken with rice, or spaghetti with meat sauce.
The weather was very nice, but on Saturday morning it rained until 11:00. In our campsite there was this HUGE rock that we hung out on a lot,
On april 25th, at Waters Farm, the annual Nova scout crossover was held. At the nova crossover, Zachary Carrier, Conner Woodard, Ethan Teixeira, Connor Teixeira, and Ashton Osterman joined the troop. Many older scouts were chosen to recite and explain the 12 points of the scout law. After that, all of the new scouts have to cross a rope bridge held up by the troop.
