This month, the troop went to Subzero Ice Cream in order to do get the chemistry merit badge. While we were there, the merit badge instructor showed us lots of cool experiments with liquid nitrogen, such as shrinking a balloon by placing it into a bowl of liquid nitrogen, and showing the surface tension of liquid nitrogen rolling across the floor. It was very fun, and we even got some delicious ice cream at the end!
This month, the troop also went on the bike trip. The trip was on the Blackstone Valley Bike Path, which is around 18 miles of biking, and the weather was great. Everyone had a great time and we saw wildlife on the ride including a deer that was only a few feet from the bike path!
This month we had a Court of Honor, where everyone in the troop received all of their patches, badges, and ranks that they have achieved at summer camp and throughout the year, such as Ranks, Merit badges, Totin'/Fireman chits, BSA awards, and anything else noteworthy. All of the parents were invited, and there was a slideshow at the beginning with all of the photos of the Scouts from throughout the year. At the end, there was lots of dessert, courtesy of the parents that showed up.
