Educate people on reducing plastic use, the harms of plastic if not placed properly, and showing them how to recycle properly.
This is important to us because it not only impacts us, it can make if a big impact if everyone in the school helps, which can make our entire school more eco friendly.
Helps reduce the amount of misplaced plastic
Helps people get access to garbage and recycling cans quickly
Educate people on the harms single use plastic
You might be wondering, what exactly would we be providing to the community? We will be strategically placing recycling bins along with garbage bins in our school, to make sure there is always one there when you need it. We will also be posting signs to help you know where your item belongs, so you won't get confused. Now you might be thinking, why should you care? Well not only does this problem affect you, we will be making the recycling or garbage disposal process a fun experience by adding backboards for the cans to make it a throwing game, and make it a fun game for you and your friends!
Join us in the change-making! Let's work together to support sustainable development in this area.

Below is some information about how this problem is manifesting in world, and some real-world examples.
Plastic finds its way into the ocean in one way or another, unless we do something to prevent it. One way plastic finds its way to the ocean is by air. If we let plastic that could have been recycled enter a landfill, it can be blown into a river. This is, of course, preventable and that is what we strive to do.
Hopefully by now you know that plastic finds its way into the oceans one way or another. But why is this a problem? Plastic in the ocean may be ingested by the local wildlife, causing choking and may entangle them. If the creature dies, it threatens the marine biodiversity and its food web, and even if it doesn't die, we may end up eating it or something that ate it, causing plastic to bioaccumulate in our bodies.
It seems like there's not much you can do to fight this, but not all hope is lost. Just recycling may seem like it doesn't do much, because you are just one person, but if everyone does it, it can make a huge impact.
