How might we rethink tides and other natural phenomena to support sustainability? More specifically, how might we apply natural solutions to remediate or prevent flooding.
Our campaign is trying to reduce the impacts of flooding in cities, by studying the precautions and techniques used by conservationists and Indigenous people at Crawford lake.
We are driven to pursue this sustainability challenge because it is very close to home. Toronto is located on a lake, so flooding is definitely in our near future. By studying how to prevent flooding, we can keep our local ecosystems intact and reduce the amount of money put into repairs from floods.
Our campaign benefits all of UTS, because all of our work is targeted towards our local community.

Below is some information about how this problem is manifesting in world, and some real-world examples.
