How might we support the sustainability of the biosphere (plants and animals)?
Educate and assist UTS students so that more people can improve bee pollination and plant life diversity in our various communities.
We think it is necessary for people to be aware of the negative affects of having a lack of diversity in the biosphere.
Teaching UTS students about preserving the diversity of animals and plants in the biosphere, and how they can have a positive and long-lasting impact on this cause.
Join us in the change-making! Let's work together to support sustainable development in this area.
Distribution of flower seeds to the UTS community so they can plant seeds in their communities, increasing plant diversity all over the GTA.
Shortly after the seeds were distributed, members of the UTS community began to plant their seeds and help to support bees and plant diversity in their communities.
This event will be ongoing throughout the future. Because of all the seeds planted, bees and plants will have areas to thrive for many years to come!
Below are some facts about how this problem is manifesting in the world, and some real-life examples.
Because of the decreasing number of plants for bees, and the increase of pollution, bees are beginning to be less common, which affects a whole cycle of sustainability issues.
Since bees are so important to most of the worlds food sources, when their population decreases, they are unable to pollinate plants that supply food, causing the food crops we rely on the most to be in danger.
Without bees, there would be no green spaces or nature areas that humans love. With bee population numbers dwindling, so are the world's plant and tree communities.
