With the infant held around the trunk, horizontally in space, tilting him or her downward head first will result in EXT and ABD of the arms w/the fingers extended and spread. Begins to bring arms forward at 4 mos.

Months 9 & 10

Protective extension forward is evident with extension and abduction of the upper extremities and upper extremities and finger extension and spread
