Antonio G. Sison, who lived from 1883 to 1972, was the 7th president of the University of the Philippines. He was an expert in medicine and education, serving as the first president of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines, and later as director of the Philippine General Hospital and dean of the UP College of Medicine from 1937 to 1951. He became president of UP from 1943 to 1945, where he acted as its de facto leader during the wartime period. During his term, he guided the university through the challenges of World War II and provided medical aid to patients at the Philippine General Hospital while directing the hospital.
