Alfredo E. Pascual

Alfredo E. Pascual served as the 20th President of the University of the Philippines from 2011 to 2017. During his term, he championed modernization initiatives, improved research infrastructure, and expanded UP’s international linkages. Pascual continues to be active in business and public service after his tenure, notably serving as the Secretary of Trade and Industry under the administration of President Bongbong Marcos from June 2022 to August 2024.
