NTTCHP Offices

Office of the Dean

Dean: Melflor A. Atienza, MD, MHPEd, FPCP, FPSG, FPSDE

The dean is appointed by the Board of Regents upon recommendation of the Chancellor and the President of the University. She/he acts as presiding officer of the faculty of the college or school as provided for in the charter of the University (RA 9500).

Office of the College Secretary

College Secretary: Emely D. Dicolen, PhD

The college secretary is appointed by the Chancellor upon the recommendation of the Dean. The duties of the secretary in relation to the college student body are:

1.     To inform students during registration of their schedule, curricula and other matters;

2.     To assist in the supervision of the activities;

3.     To help execute decisions of committees of the college/school and the University authorities affecting students; and

4.     To see that requirements for graduation are fulfilled.

Office of Curriculum and Instruction (OCI)

Chair: Emely D. Dicolen

The OCI is responsible for the design, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of existing curricular programs, and the development and institutionalization of new curricular programs relevant to the needs of a given educational institution. It is also tasked to develop and implement faculty development programs at both local and national levels.

Office of Extension and Continuing Education (OECE)

Chair: Melflor A. Atienza, MD, MHPEd, FPCP, FPSG, FPSDE

The OECE spearheads the various extension and continuing education programs of NTTCHP.  This includes the institutionalized programs such as the free monthly seminars, the interuniversity workshops, and the annual national conference, as well as other continuing education programs designed for specific groups. Moreover, the OECE is also behind the production of the “Health Professions Teacher”’ the official newsletter of the NTTCHP.



Office of Research and Development (ORD)

Chair: Erlyn A. Sana, PhD

The ORD aims to establish a nurturing research environment in NTTCHP by heading the development of researches and the provision of support to faculty, REPS, and student researchers through the various grants from NTTCHP, National Graduate Office for the Health Sciences, National Institute of Health, UP Manila, and other institutions.

Learning Resources Unit (LRU)

Chair: Nemuel S. Fajutagana, MD, MHPEd

The LRU has four major roles at the NTTCHP, which includes website development, updating of NTTCHP’s technology ability, updating of our human resource capability, and updating of existing publications. The LRU serves as designers, maintenance officers and monitors of the NTTCHP website and conducts in-house trainings related to maximizing technological resources of the college.

Office of External Linkages

Chair: Monica H. Walet, PhD

The Office of International and Local Linkages (OILL) is a unit under the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs. It is mandated to identify and explore areas of cooperation and linkages with foreign and local institutions. It promotes academic collaboration with local and foreign universities in the form of student and faculty exchange, joint research, exchange of publication, sponsorship of conference, and other academic activities. The office is engaged in the initiation, planning, implementation and monitoring of linkage activities. (https://oil.up.edu.ph/). 

The UP Manila OILL facilitates and implements the OILL mandate. Additionally, it disseminates information on study abroad and scholarship opportunities in all Colleges of the Unit. Moreover, it facilitates the application and endorsement of UP students who wish to participate in the academic exchange programs with local or foreign universities.  It also assists foreign exchange students who are studying in UP whose institutions/universities have active Memorandum of Agreement/Understanding with the UP System. It further monitors UP Manila students who are on student exchange engagements with the University’s partner universities/institutions.

The NTTCHP OEL coordinates its internationalization activities with UP Manila OILL. This office facilitates the signing of memorandum of understanding / agreement with foreign partners, invitation of lecturers and speakers, and visiting professors; It also assists foreign study tours and international exchange of students.

Office of Intellectual Property and Data Management

Chair: Maria Elizabeth M. Grageda, PhD, MHPEd, PTRP

The Office of Intellectual Property and Data Management ensures that information generated from students, personnel, and clients of NTTCHP are protected and kept safe in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012.  The office creates and implements policies related to safe, accurate, and efficient collection, recording, storage, and retrieval of information, both personal and institutional, aligned with policies set forth by the University. It also creates and implements policies that will ensure protection of creative works of students, faculty, and staff, and encourage production of original works that will be beneficial to the public. The office also monitors adherence of students, faculty, and staff to copyright laws and fair use in all academic, administrative, and creative endeavors.

NTTCHP Library

College Librarian: Marietta M. Buela, MLS

The NTTCHP Library has a collection of reference materials in health professions education in the circulation, reserve and serials sections. New policies and memoranda on the use of library facilities and services in relation to COVID-19 crisis will supersede the regulations in this section.
