Teens will receive up to $375 and parents will receive up to $165.

What is this research study about?

We are interested in learning more about how two programs offered may help teenagers with depression.

Who can participate or join the study?

This study is for...

  • 12-18 year olds

  • with symptoms of depression


What will I do in the study?

16 weeks of study treatment at a community mental health clinic, receiving either:

  • usual therapy- Therapists will implement hte therapy procedures that they usually use in their clinical practice

  • Interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT-A)- This is an evidence-based therapy that reduces symptoms of depression and improves functioning by helping teens learn and practice communication skills and interpersonal problem-solving skills.

And, 6 research visits (both teen and parent) at the University of Minnesota.
