The Document Imaging system is an enterprise content management system (also known as a document management system) that serves as a repository for capturing and indexing critical documents that support various business processes around the university. Users of the system can upload and organize paper and electronic documents and retrieve those documents securely.
The system employs Perceptive Content software and can be accessed via either a web-based interface or desktop client software (when to use which option?).
The system is also integrated into various university systems (including M-Pathways Financials, M-Pathways Student, M-Pathways Human Resources, and the Donor Alumni Relationship Tool), which often offer simple Add Document or View Document hyperlinks. Many of the system’s features can be accessed from within these integrations.
Your supervisor should request access for you, based on your role at the SSC. This is procured by the SSC Business Office, via a system called the Online Access Request System (OARS).
Some teams have reported that TDX tickets are being created that are essentially "blank" - there are no imaged documents attached, and the requestor is "guest@umich.edu"
In these instances, ITS has told us that they have a system in place that scans for these errors and essentially re-creates/re-images the tickets and attachments. This system will create a NEW TDX ticket and assign to the group and/or person it should. So, you can cancel the original "blank" ticket.

How to Search/Update in the Web Client
FYI: July 1 - 2024: Per ITS - they are looking to transition OUT of the Desktop Perceptive Content client - and over to the Web Client. The main difference is in CAPTURING documents with the web client - which will likely need to include additional setup with ITS.
Please note that currently, ITS is looking to transition out of the Desktop Client in the next 6 months.
