Exam is posted on May 17 page. Wishing you all the best of luck in your futures!
Please rest assured that I understand that being a college student doesn't necessarily mean that you are completely savvy with computers. Bonnie and I are happy to help you out. In the upcoming days, I will be posting some information below as to how to do those little things that sometimes we just don't know how to do. If you have ideas for what could be on this page, let us know. Here are a few basics:
Bookmark this website
You don't need to enter this site via the email sent. Once you follow that link once you can then bookmark the page (press the star symbol on the line at the top that has the website information. You can also make one of your shortcuts on your home google page go to this website. To do this go to Desktop through File Explorer (the folder icon) and click New and then Shortcut. Copy and paste the website into the space provided and this will create a shortcut that you can name PSYC 324 or whatever else you want to name it.
What is this whole Google thing and why do I keep getting messages saying that I need permission?
All of you have a Google account through UMBC. If you have another Google account (that is a personal gmail account), google will need to know which account you are on when trying to access documents. You MUST be on your UMBC Google account when doing work for this course and trying to access slides, forms, etc. If you are not, you will get that dreaded "you need to ask permission to open the file" feedback. So how do you get to your UMBC google account or how do you know which one you are on? Go to the circle with your first initial in it. If you hover over it, it will let you know what Google account you are on. If you are on the wrong one, click the circle and it should bring up the option to switch to the UMBC Google account.
If we aren't on Blackboard how do I submit my assignments?
All assignments are through Google Form. Google Forms are found on the day's page. A link to them is also provided on the Schedule of Assignments page. Once you have completed a Google Form, make sure to hit submit and also request that you get a receipt. The receipt helps in case there is some disparity between your records and mine. Also please remember to put your name on your forms. You'd be surprised how many students forget.
What about the project? There isn't a Google Form for that so how do I submit?
Projects should be submitted via UMBC BOX. Students will create a folder there where they will place the video of their interview, the transcript and analysis as well as the critique.
What the heck is BOX?
There is a whole page devoted to that. LINK
