Students will choose from either the video prepared for Class 18 or the one for Class 21 to transcribe, analyze, and critique for their project. Students do NOT need to do both.
Week 12 Class 24 Students should hand in the transcription and analysis of the interview as well as a 1-2 page critique of the interview.
Critique portion of project /100 pts.
The critique should convey your opinions regarding how well your interview met with the standards of what you are coming to understand as “good interviewing” based on your reading, class discussions, and the rubric. It should include an opening paragraph, 2-3 paragraphs outlining the positive aspects of your interview, 2-3 paragraphs outlining the negative aspects of your interview and a closing paragraph which summarizes your critique and addresses what you plan to do differently in future interviews. Alternatively, students may choose to include an opening paragraph, several paragraphs describing both strengths and weaknesses of the opening, body, and closing, and a closing paragraph which summarizes your critique and addresses what you plan to do differently in future interviews. Students will create a folder in Box where they will submit their video, transcript and analysis, and critique. Students should label the folder with their full name. Egg code 12critic. A good critique will:
follow the structure outlined. Writing will be well organized and easily understood. Student will utilize good sentence structure, proper word usage, and proper punctuation (20 pts).

Demonstrate good critical thinking skills by identifying positive attributes of the interview first and then addressing negative attributes and areas for improvement. Student demonstrates awareness of what constitutes strengths and weaknesses within the realm of interviewing. Student demonstrates ability to recognize the complexity of factors that contribute to a good interview and be open to self-reflection (40 pts)
Correct Application of Course Material: Critique reflects proper usage of course terminology and material covered in text and class (40 pts)
