ALG
ALG work is graded primarily for completion. As long as students are working on the assignment productively during class, students will receive full credit. Students who are late for class or are not collaborating with their peers on assignments may receive less than full credit for the assignment. Groups and/or students who work very well on an assignment may receive a bonus point on the assignment. Each assignment is graded on a scale of 10 points.
RRA
RRA Work is graded by the TA. All questions about RRA work should be addressed to the TA. RRA work is graded as follows:
1) Review questions are graded for accuracy and the number of points per question is indicated on the Google Form
2) Reading Assessment questions are graded as follows:
Long answer/essay type questions are assessed based on whether they adequately address all aspects of the question and whether that answer reflects an accurate understanding of the text. Additionally, students are expected to convey their answers clearly, using proper grammar, punctuation, etc. Students for whom English is a second language or for whom writing skills are difficult are encouraged to utilize the Writing Center services in order to improve their abiity to express themselves clearly. (Good writing skills are crucial for most jobs involving interviewing.)
Short answer/multiple choice type questions are assessed loosely on accuracy. Students need not get all answers correct to receive full credit (some material may be complex) but students' answers should reflect that they did read the material. Students who have a majority of these types of answers incorrect will have points deducted.
