I have been teaching at UMBC for over ten years. I did my undergraduate work at Goucher College. After two years working, first at a residential program for traumatically brain injured adults and then as a research assistant for the Center for Social Organization of Schools at Johns Hopkins University, I got my Ph.D. from the University of Delaware in Clinical Psychology. I interned at the V.A. in Baltimore and then began my career at the American University as a staff psychologist in their counseling center. While at American University, I worked as the Coordinator of Clinical Services and the Director of Training. During my tenure there, we developed an APA accredited internship program for clinical psychology and counseling psychology students. I also maintained a small private practice. I have since worked in the UMBC Counseling Center as the training director and have taught as an adjunct at Loyola University in their Pastoral Counseling program. I love undergraduates and teaching and am especially fond of teaching interviewing skills.
On a more personal note, I am a mother of two adult children. My husband and I enjoy bird-watching together and I am an avid photographer of birds. I also enjoy playing Scrabble, Wordle, and the NY Times Spelling Bee. I am fond of musical theater (my son is a professional actor) and Task Master (the British comedy/game show).
