Interview Project
Overview:
The Interview Project provides students with the opportunity to put the skills that they have learned over the semester into practice.
The project will be completed over the course of the 2nd half of the semester. Students will video-record themselves conducting two separate 5-7 minute Informational interviews on a topic of their choosing (from a list provided or approved). Interviews may be conducted in person or remotely depending on individual student needs. Students need to be visible on the video. Their interviewee does not. (This is so I can grade your non-verbal behavior)
The graded Interview project itself will consist of 3 parts. Each part will be worth 100pts.
Part I: The Interview Full directions at this LINK
Part II: The Transcript and Analysis Full directions at this LINK
Part III: The Critique Full directions at this LINK

Students rarely believe me on this point but I strongly believe in flexible due dates. As adults, I think you are probably the best judge of what time line suits you best for completing and handing in the project. As long as I have it in time to grade before grades are due. I am fine. For those students who have an A in the class, they may be exempted from the Final Exam. To determine if you have an A, I need to have graded your project. Students who hand in the project in time for me to grade it before the Final Exam date and have an A in the course at that point, will receive an email from me stating that they are exempt.
