IEP Invitation
Invitation Purpose
Select correct reason for holding the IEP meeting (e.g. initial, re-evaluation, etc.)
Verify correct box is checked (e.g. initial, re-evaluation, etc.)
For an initial or re-evaluation, select the specific purpose to SET/RE-SET 3 year re-evaluation dates in Illuminate
Setting
Host site is operating district and must be selected from the drop-down menu
Complete all other sections
Click Save
Click Next at the bottom of the page to complete the next section
Invited Participants
Boxes with red stars have to be completed
At least 2 attempts have to be made to notify the parent of the IEP meeting (at least one in writing)
Invitation has to be sent home 7 days prior to meeting
1 parent name appears automatically
To add another parent, click the larger box next to Parent/Guardian
Then select another name
If a name is missing, notify local staff. Demographic information has to be entered via the local software system
For all other participants, start to type the person's name
Required participants:
General Education Teacher
Special Education Teacher or Provider
District Representative
MET Representative/Person Able to Interpret Instructional Implications of Evaluations
Parent
Outside Agencies if applicable for transition IEP (students 16 or older)
Student over 16 REQUIRED to be invited
Invite younger students when feasible
The name HAS to be select from the drop-down menu
A title for each person is required and has to be typed
For preschoolers, a general education teacher is NOT required
The service provider could be listed as the general education teacher OR
Not Applicable can be selected from the drop down list
Click Save
Click Next at the bottom of the page to complete the next section
IEP Invitation Letter Print Options
Invitation can be printed now or later
IEP Invitation Print
Sections with a red star must be completed
Parent and student names must be typed
Student over 16 REQUIRED to be invited
Invite younger students when feasible
Click Submit to print invitation (This also saves the invitation.)
At the bottom of the page, select to return to the IEP summary page or continue through each section of the IEP
