New
The same dialog box is reachable via Change. The title is then Change building, instead of New building, but the functionality is otherwise the same.
Find it here:

This dialog box is for registering/editing building information.
Name and number
Identity - Identity may consist of a random selection of characters and other symbols. As identity for a certain building, a good choice could be the street address or the name of the owner of the house. By automatic location of a facade point in front of the building, the identity of the building will be used as the identity for the points, with a serial number after it.
Number of inhabitants - How many inhabitants this building has. Is used for a summary of the number of persons within certain noise limits in reports.
Drawing window - The contour of the building. The point having information in Info about corner heights has a yellow circle. There is no functionality in the drawing window.
Contour
Select contour < - All dialog boxes are closed, and a contour (must be a polyline/polygon) may be selected directly from the drawing. When the contour is selected or the operation is canceled, we return to the dialog box. The contour is drawn in the Drawing window, and a height value is added in the field Roof height. This value is calculated by the program, see buildings. Under Layer name for fetching buildings, you can see and possibly change which layer names are interpreted as buildings defined by roof height and which layer names are interpreted as buildings defined by contour/without height.
If the map has been read in 2D, the ground level will be regarded as 0.
If a ridgeline has been defined (must have a layer name defined in Layer name for fetching buildings) and intersects the contour of the building at least once) in connection with the building, at the same time, this will automatically be entered as a ridge for this building. The ridgeline will be shown in the Drawing window. The average height this line has in AutoCAD will be added to the field Ridge height.
Draw contour < - All dialog boxes are closed, and we may draw the contour of the building directly to the drawing. When the contour is complete, press <Enter> to return to the dialog box. The contour will be shown in the Drawing window. All heights are initially set to 0. The altitude of the ground level may be imported from the terrain model by pressing Fetch. Based on this information, we may estimate the height of the roof and ridge, or enter measured heights in absolute values. The contour of buildings drawn with this function will be created on the layer for buildings specified in the dialog box Layer name for fetching buildings.
Roof height - The height of the roof in absolute value (meters above sea level) is given in this field. A building must be given one common roof height. Buildings with annexes, where the roof heights of the main building and the annex are differing, must be entered as two buildings if there are high demands for accuracy. As we select the contour of a building, this height value will be entered automatically. How this value is calculated is explained in buildings.
Ridge
Select ridge < - All dialog boxes are closed, and a ridge may be selected from the drawing. The ridge must be defined as a polyline, i.e. it may have break points so that e.g. ridges of angle houses may be entered. A ridge must intersect the building contour at least once. As the ridge is selected, the user returns to the dialog box. The ridge will be shown in the Drawing window and a height value will be added in the field Ridge height. This value is the average height of the end points and any break points of the selected line.
Draw ridge < - All dialog boxes are closed, and the user may draw a ridge (polyline) for the building directly to the drawing. A ridge may have several break points so that e.g. ridges of angle houses may be entered. When the ridge is complete, press <Enter> to return to the dialog box. The ridge will be shown in the Drawing window. A height must be defined for the ridge. The ridges drawn with this function will be created on the layer for ridges specified in the dialog box Layer name for fetching buildings.
Delete ridge - The selected ridge is deleted. The dialog box Delete ridge appears, see Delete.
Ridge height - The height at the top of the ridge in absolute value (meters above sea level) is entered in this field. When a line is selected, this height value will be displayed automatically. This value is the average height of the end points and any break points of the selected line.
Info about corner heights
Information about heights for each contour corner/breakpoint and ridge ending is given here. This information is given to make it easier to check that the given heights are reasonable.
Height in Novapoint Noise - Shows which height is used for roof height (or ridge) in Novapoint Noise. These heights will equal the heights given in the Roof height and possibly Ridge height fields.
Roofline/Contour - Shows the height from the AutoCAD polyline at this point. The text for the field shows (from the layer name) which feature code the line has and whether it is a contour line or a roof line.
Height in terrain model - Shows the calculated terrain height for each corner point. Terrain heights are automatically calculated when the dialog box is opened and may possibly be recalculated by clicking Fetch. In order for calculated terrain heights to be as correct as possible, it is important to make sure that all feature codes with buildings are set to passive in the terrain model, and that groups and all other feature codes are correctly set. In the worst-case scenario, the error for heights calculated in the terrain model can be 1 meter (when equidistance is 1 meter).
Fetch - Recalculates the terrain heights of all points in the building line and ridgeline.
Previous corner - Move focus to the previous point on the line.
Next corner - Move focus to the next point on the line.
Misc.
OK - The dialog box is closed. The building is registered and/or changes are accepted.
Cancel - The dialog box is closed without saving (or changing) the building.
