This is where you will be able to find the weekly Homework. Homework is not mandatory in Kindergarten but by completing activities at home you will help practice and reinforce skills we are learning at school.
The Tic-Tac-Toe boards as well as any links to resources you will need to complete the activities will be on the homework tab for the week.
Homework Expectation in Kindergarten
We strongly believe in the power of play and the importance of letting children be children. We believe that when students give us all of their day, they deserve to have all of their night. Therefore, you will have limited (if any) amount of work to do at home. Instead of homework, eat dinner as a family and ask how their day was, enjoy your child’s extra-curricular activities without worrying about homework and know that your child is working hard at school each and every day and have earned their evening play time! On the other pages in this section you will find a weekly homework assignment if you are looking for something to work on with your child at home. Please note homework in Kindergarten should be worked on for a recommended 10 minutes a night.
I encourage each family to read with their child each night for 10 minutes. Reading is a great way to slow down and spend some (hopefully) uninterrupted time with your child. Let the child choose a book and ask why they chose it or what they think it will be about. Encourage them to share thoughts about the story/characters while you are reading.
