Nursery

Nursery Computing comprises turn taking, following instructions, using interactive programs and computational thinking such as asking questions such as 'what comes next?', 'can you build it higher' and 'what if we do it in a different order?'. We use stories such as The Hungry Caterpillar to help us think logically and in order and dance routines to practice following instructions.

It is also about using devices such as cameras, sound buttons, metal detectors, and remotely controlled vehicles as well as recognising uses of technology in school and at home.

A weekly session in Nursery also allows the children and teacher to become familiar with each other and helps prepare the children for more formal lessons and instruction in Reception. This has helped enormously with progress through the school.
