EuthanasiaIn this lesson, we will look at religious views on euthanasia. We will explore reasons for Euthanasia, the law on Euthanasia, Christian views (situation ethics, sanctity of life), Islamic views (Command not to kill, predestination) and non-religious views (utilitarianism).

Social Justice and Human RightsIn this lesson, we will have a look at an introduction to what human rights are, what social justice is and Christian and Muslim views on these.

Lesson 2

Prejudice and Discrimination

Prejudice and discriminationIn this lesson, we will focus on what prejudice and discrimination are, looking at examples and considering Christian and Islamic views on this. This lesson contains reference to sexuality, sex and prejudice and discrimination based on these.

Disability and discrimination

Prejudice and discrimination based on disabilityIn this lesson, we will focus on prejudice and discrimination based on disability. We will be looking at the case study of screening for Down's Syndrome which is a controversial topic and links to the topic of abortion.

Prejudice and discrimination based on raceIn this lesson, we will focus on prejudice and discrimination based on race. We will be looking at examples of prejudice and discrimination based on race, as well as a case study of the murder of Anthony Walker.

Religious freedom and censorshipIn this lesson, we will focus on religious freedom and censorship. We will explore religious freedom in the UK, Christian and Islamic teachings on freedom of religion and censorship.

Poverty and its causesIn this lesson, we will focus on poverty and its causes in the lesson today. We will look at the problem of poverty, responsibility of those living in poverty, the exploitation situation in Britain, fair pay and people trafficking.

Giving money to the poorIn this lesson, we will focus on giving money to the poor. We will explore giving aid (long and short term), charity (tithe in Christianity, Zakah and Khums in Islam) and charities that help the poor (Muslim Hands, Christian Aid).
