Use the grammar structures learned in this chapter: Present, subjunctive, imperfect subjunctive, present perfect subjunctive and pluperfect subjunctive. Paid attention to the agreement of adjectives. Avoid the repetition of nouns by using pronouns and direct/indirect object pronouns.
Use the vocabulary learned in class.
Do not write your composition in English and then in Spanish. This will not help you.
You can obtain up to 15 points in your paper. You will get one point for each correct grammatical structure: verb conjugated in subjunctive correctly and article, adjective, plural/singular agreement.
Your teacher will take off a point for each unnecessary repetition of a noun/pronoun.
Your teacher will focus on grammar; however, he will take off a point for incorrect information about the plot of the short story.
Common Errors When Students Write Their Papers in Spanish:
Unnecessary mixed verb tenses.
Reiterate use of nouns or pronouns.
Use of false cognates.
Use of electronic translators.
Write their papers in English and then in Spanish.
Request assistance from Spanish speakers, who do not have a good understanding of grammar.
Format
Double spaced, Times New Roman in font 12. Write information on top of page and on the left side. Include the following:
Your name
You teacher’s name
Composition title
Class
Date
You can consult the electronic dictionaries; however, the use of electronic translators like Google Translator is prohibited. The use of this kind of translators is considered plagiarism. If a student submits a paper that another person wrote for him/her, it is also plagiarism.
