HOPE 2020

"Hope is a good thing, maybe even the best of things,

and no good thing ever dies"

~ Andy Dufresne from "The Shawshank Redemption"

In March of 2020 life came to a screeching halt. The COVID-19 pandemic began with the closing of schools, stores, cancellations of concerts, events, and sports. Toilet paper was scarce.

During this difficult time, Vanier Arts students embarked on a creative journey to see hope in the darkness. Throughout history's most difficult times, the Arts have always been present. The Arts tell the tale of human history. They not only inform us of our past, but give us a glimmer of what it was like to live in the best of times, and the worst of times. The Arts also bring us joy. They can take us from a place of darkness, to a place of happiness and joy. Vanier Artists have attempted to bring Hope into the COVID-19 pandemic. Their task was to create something that would have the title "Hope."
