The Guitar Program at Vanier is open to any student wanting to take a music course without previous knowledge. If you already have previous experience playing the guitar, you are welcome too. In Guitar we play a wide variety of music in ensemble and solo settings, as well as perform at concerts and festivals. The Guitar Ensemble extra curricular ensemble has won numerous awards over the years, earning many Gold and 1 Platinum Award at the Kiwanis Music Festival of Greater Toronto.
AMG1O1/AMG2O1 - Course Description
This course is designed to introduce students to the guitar as a performance musical instrument. Students are given the opportunity to explore the fundamentals of guitar technique, and apply their learning to a variety of repertoire. In Guitar Class we will be playing and learning many different styles and techniques, with an emphasis on ensemble work and solo performance. We will endeavour into the realm of popular music, with some performance, as well as written analysis.

The Senior Guitar class has been developed to enhance a student's understanding and technique on the guitar. There is an emphasis on introducing many different styles and techniques, and give students the opportunity to explore their own musicality and creativity.
