PACE is a pre-apprenticeship experiential learning opportunity for students who have little to no experience in the trades and would like the opportunity to explore the trades field, shadowing a TDSB tradesperson.
Skilled trades areas are:
Electrician
Carpenter
Plumber
Boilermaker
Masonry
Heating and Air Conditioning
Building Automation System (BAS) Technician
Glazier (In-house, 95 Shorting Road)
Sheet Metal (In-house, 550 Finch Ave West)

Be enrolled in full-day Co-op

Reference Letter from two teachers
The student will attend a virtual interview to gauge eligibility and interest.

Applications for Semester 1 open in April. Applications for semester 2 open in October.
Meet with the Earl Haig teacher to express your interest (room 269)
Attend OYAP information sessions, when available.
If you are approved by an EH Coop teacher, you will be placed into nomination for the program
Up to three students will be selected from Earl Haig.
If you are selected, you will be notified by your teacher and an email will come to you with a Google Form to fill out for PACE. It will ask for your preferred trade placement and location. Please ensure you can travel daily to the location you select.
Email an up-to-date resume and cover letter to Lawrence.Dawkins@tdsb.on.ca. Please make sure to save as: first name, last name, school.
Watch your email carefully for interview offers (usually mid december for S2).
During the virtual interview, students will be scored using a rubric and successful candidates will be notified of next steps.

Applicable skills
Experience
What they know about the PACE program and why they hope to participate
Note that applications are NOT accepted unless they are registered by an Earl Haig Coop teacher. Please use this website to understand the requirements and read about the applications, but speak to the Earl Haig Co-Op department before applying.
