Pixel Art in Education is the use of conditional cells in a spreadsheet, where the correct answer to a question will uncover a specific colour or section of an unknown image. When all the answers have been correctly filled out, the image will be completely revealed to the student.
Much of the inspiration and many of the examples have come from the Facebook Group Pixel Art Mysteries in Education

I found a gorgeous artpiece by Alanna Jewell on Twitter (Haudenosaunee creator. She/her. Bear clan, Oneida Nation - Kitchener), and I asked her permission if I could use her artwork for a Pixel Art. She granted permission, and so I remixed this PuzzleReveal (originally from Kelly W) for today.

Infographic about Pentecost (Archdiocese of Toronto)
Original format by Kelly W
The Catholic Church rejoices for 50 days from Easter Sunday until Pentecost. The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops exclaims, “The Easter festival is an extended event. The fifty days from Easter to Pentecost Sunday are kept as one great feast day – called the “Great Sunday”. The Catholic Bishops also highlight the significance of Pentecost:
“As we celebrate the solemnity of Pentecost…let us linger a while on the action of the Holy Spirit in the Christian community. We speak of Pentecost as “the birthday of the Church”. The earliest disciples, who had encountered Jesus during his time on earth, had sufficient teachings and instructions to continue His mission on earth. But they lacked the Spirit. With the coming of the Holy Spirit, they had the confidence and courage to proclaim Jesus and His message. The Church was indeed born.”
I found this beautiful photograph on Flickr of the stained glass window at St. Aloysius Church in Somers Town, London. I converted it into puzzle pieces for a 16-question PictureReveal:

Some resources to support learning about the Pride Flag:
Mimi Lopez created a Progress Pride Pixel Art template to coincide with the Pride Flag debate with the Trustees on May 6, 2021. The Pride Flag will be flown at all Toronto Catholic District School Board schools in the month of June, and the school board will officially recognize Pride Month.
Here is the original PrideFlag Template:

Some resources to support learning about the different Heritage Months:
I formatted my first PixelArt from scratch (with the help of Mimi Lopez and Debbie Mattingly)! Our school board recognizes Filipino, Portuguese, and Italian Heritage months as well as Indigenous History month in June. I combined the four flags together into one pixel art reveal. With the help of Rosanna Mortillaro and Earl Totten, we re-formatted the PixelArt for each grade for a year-long Math Review (Ontario Curriculum)
Here is the Original June Heritage Template
