A team from MathUP Classroom (Rubicon) put together some number talk activities and other problem-solving discussions for Grade 1-9.
With an emphasis on building relationships and getting to know the learners, Sara Van Der Werf's blog post explains how to use Name Tents to connect with each student after every lesson. Students use the prompts such as "What do you like about math?" and "What would you like me know about you?", and teachers can respond to each student for the next day.
