Check out our new YouTube video suggestions! Also, remember the KLP Google Classroom for some links to other fun activities/books.
Our last story for the year is Goldilocks and the Three Bears. There are several different versions on YouTube. Here are a couple. You might try watching the different versions and discussing how they are the same and how they are different.
Here are some sample questions that we normally ask during the KLP class. You may wish to ask your child the same questions, or invent some of your own!
Your child might also enjoy acting out the story. Below, you will find a sample script that we use and some props. Feel free to make your own props! For example, make different "beds" out of old Kleenex boxes, Lego, a pillow. Get different sizes of bowls from your kitchen. Use different chairs you might have at home.
As you retell the story, you might also consider discussing the following:
Was it a good idea for Goldilocks to go into a stranger's house? Why not?
Where do we eat breakfast?
Where do we sit down to relax?
Where do we sleep?
Where do we live?
Just for fun have your child colour and cut out the characters and create a part from the story. Have them tell you about the scene they created using complete sentences.
Another option for your child. Have your child cut out the pictures, then tape them onto the hand (or use their own hand!) in order. Help them to tell you their version of the story, using the sequencing words "First, Next, Then, Next, Finally."
