Check out our new YouTube video suggestions! Also, remember the KLP Google Classroom for some links to other fun activities/books.
Our next meet is this Tuesday, June 16th at 12:30 p.m.
This message is to advise you that we will be introducing *optional* video conferencing to support your child’s learning. At this time, the TCDSB only supports the use of Google Meet for video-conferencing with students and this is the tool we will be using. This is a completely optional opportunity to meet with our KLP teacher and a KLP Speech Pathologist, as well as some KLP friends.
Please note: you will require your child’s TCDSB.ca email account and password to join the Google Meet. We can contact your child’s home school teacher and administrator if you do not already have your child’s TCDSB.ca email and password.
The link for the video meet will be sent via email, as well as be posted to our Google class and website.
-each meeting will be within regular school hours and will be 30 mins in length
-you will receive a link 10 mins prior to the start of the meeting
-the focus will be on reconnecting with our KLP friends and sharing activities/objects from home
-the groupings may include students from different St. Matthias KLP classes (Tues/Thurs AM/PM and Wed/Fri AM/PM)
-you can use the Google Chrome browser on your computer to access the Google Meet
-from a phone/iPad, you can download the Google Meet app from the app store
Preparation for the video conference should include the following:
Make sure your device is charged and try closing browser windows and/or apps to improve the connection speed.
Find a quiet space in your home for your child to sit and participate. The child should be sitting upright.
Be aware of the direction that the camera on the computer is facing and the background that will be visible when your child is on screen.
Even if you minimize the screen, we can still see your child and anybody else/anything else in the background. Please be aware of this to maintain professionalism and privacy.
If you do not wish to have your child’s image on the screen, your child may still participate. During the session, the video feature may be turned off. Your child will still be able to hear and see what is on the screen and participate in the session.
