In Foundations in Art 1, the fundamentals of two dimensional design and composition are taught. Foundations 1 is primarily a two dimensional course. Projects explore the areas of drawing, painting, sculpture, and design. Foundations In Art 1 can replace Studio In Art as the requirement for an art sequence and as the prerequisite for advanced art courses. This course can be used toward satisfying the one-year graduation requirement in the arts.
Foundations in Art 1 is a 0.5 credit alternate day course.
This course fulfills half of the art graduation requirement.
There are no prerequisites for this course.
Students will explore a variety of traditional art materials including, but not limited to: color pencils, acrylic paint, pastels, watercolor, printmaking ink, and collage paper.
