How can I visually explore the concept of dramaturgy?
AP Studio Art 2D Design is a full year art course offered to highly motivated students that are seriously interested in creating college level artwork. The program is designed to both support students while they personally investigate various methods of self expression and to provide direction for students to take the AP Studio Art 2D Design exam and earn college credit. Strong emphasis will be on the use of the Elements of Art and Principles of Design as interpreted through a wide variety of media.
The course work centers on the 2 sections of the AP 2D portfolio, Sustained Investigation and Selected Works. The sustained investigation is an individual inquiry chosen and explored by each student through various mediums. As the year progresses, students continue to expand upon their ideas as they develop a total of 15 works that explore a specific inquiry. Students will document both their process and have the opportunity to revise previous works throughout the year. The selected works section allows students to highlight their five strongest works to the college board.
