It is best practice for BVI teachers and school psychologists to work collaboratively when assessing students who are BVI. The School Psychologist can use the NAAVI, with younger students, but would need to make adjustments in interpretation. The NAAVI does provide normative scores for 16-70+ year old.
This document is a support and guide through a step by step process to help teachers determine if you need to contact a Teacher of the Visually Impaired for an initial vision assessment.
