e-commerce website
A local business owner needed to move her website from a stand-alone custom-coded website, to one she could manage without technical know-how.
It was important to build confidence in online purchasing from Rainbowrestaurant.com instead of taking them to a third-party site to make their purchases.
Update: Client has recently change applications and is now using Toast to mange the her website.

Previous website
The original site was composed of a brand landing site and then an extra-curricular commerce site that took the user to a complicated url (https://ezc2r.com/rainbow) that was not memorable and lacked a modern user experience.
Original commerce site for online take-out orders, early part of the pandemic, 2020.
Website update
Moved the website Square so that anyone could make updates without calling a help desk or the developer.
Use a commerce system that allowed custom domain names
Use a system independant of developer or account management to make changes
Use a system that had a long history of documented satisfied users.
Navigating building a commerce site during the restaurant shut-down of 2020 led many restaurants to take the first option that was presented to them, without questioning the usability, scalability and the price. Having tried two options that relied heavily on a developer or an account manager, I moved the website Square so that anyone could make updates without calling a help desk or the developer.
Initially, the owner was directed to use another online commerce product called BentoBox, but it did not allow for custom URLs, and in the case of this restaurant, they would be losing 20+ years of site recognition. In addition, the product required calling into service for every question. In order to reduce the cost of paying for a subscription commerce platform that needed an additional service from Square to work, I moved the site entirely to Square. This transition was during the pandemic, and many business had to be agile, and keep costs down, in order to stay afloat. rainbowrestaurant.com

Ordering during a pandemic poses a challenge to timing the orders and arrivals. I devised a way for people to reserve a pick-up time, to avoid crowding.
