Realistic Self-Portrait

The main idea behind this work was to capture the essence of a photograph of myself on paper. To capture the shades and 'feel' of the picture.

To create this piece, I used a variety of grades of graphite pencils, and creative erasing to create the depth and at least semi-realism. Using a mixture of continuous and quick 'flicking' strokes, I added texture in different ways to different parts of the image.

The process was fairly simply, it was just copying texture, shade, and grade from an image.
