The general ideas behind these pieces were definitely not very abstract or open-minded. These drawings were led very much simply by life. I drew based on what I saw, with no personal interpretation or drawing from the mind.
I used graphite pencils of different grades, making sure to use lighter ones for the base lines—being easier to erase—and then refining those sketchy lines with a darker grade to bolden the edges.
To make this piece, I placed either my shoe or my hand in front of me in a specific position, and simply drew what I saw. I made sure to be very careful to capture as much detail as I could—at least on the hand drawing—and did my best to keep things proportional.
