Wilting Away

Cardboard, Cardstock, Wire, Hot glue, School glue
I really like roses, and in some ways I feel it represents me. So I thought it would be fun and slightly challenging to try and make one into a 3D sculpture.
I started with a base of cardboard for the stem, with smaller triangles as thorns. Then I made a cardboard base and attached a small bit of wire to hold the flower up. Then, as I made the flower head with cardstock petals, I used wire to create a 'box' around the flower. Finally, I used a small bit of 22 gauge wire to sign the piece.
There were a few iterations of the actual petals and how they would attach to the centerpoint. Eventually I settled on the method shown in the image.
