Artist Statement

What guided my artwork for my Zentangle Value Strip, was just being able to create the light to dark look, so I started off by spacing out my design in the first boxes, and then as it went on it was much thicker and filled up the boxes a lot more.

The only materials I used were a gel pen on drawing paper. I started off by creating the boxes/strip and then I began to put different patterns into the different boxes to create the value strip.

I started by making my outline and rectangle with 10 squares in it, then I created my different patterns in each of the different boxes making sure to change the value of the pattern each time to create a light to dark look.
