Beautiful Oops

The main idea that guided my artwork was the shape of the ink splatter, I noticed it kind of looked like the body of a butterfly, so I went with it and started drawing it. I am not trying to say anything specific with my drawing I just wanted to draw a butterfly.

The materials I used were a pink and blue colored pencil, then I also used a black sharpie, and an HB pencil to start out. I first started by drawing everything out in pencil, then I went over the solid lines with a sharpie to match the dark ink in the middle, then I colored in the background blue and the body of the butterfly pink.

The first thing I did was look up a picture of a butterfly, and I followed along with the picture to create the outline of my butterfly, I structured it all around the ink splatter of course, and then I created a background that I thought fit the setting.
