Duality Project

For this project, our goal was to make a piece of art with some duality. For example, you could make a black and white pot, or you could make two trays and have one be the sun and one be the moon. My first idea for this project was going to be a mushroom. I was going to make the top of the mushroom a different color than the bottom, however, I quickly realized that my idea did not meet the expectations for this project. After some thinking, I came up with a small vase. at first, I did not know how I was going to incorporate duality, but my lovely teacher Mr. Anderson gave me the idea of doing it black and white and having one of the colors drag into the other.  After I got my sketch done I began to construct my vase. the process of getting this vase was pretty simple. I made two pinch pots and put them together, and made sure the middle was secure by adding extra clay to fill in the holes that came with putting two pots together.

If I could change anything about this project, I think I would change the way I made the vase. I dont like how the top part of the vase is larger than the bottom, and im also not a huge fan of how the rim of my vase came out. although many parts of this project are not my favorite, it was a great learning process, and I learned a lot within this project that will help me in the future.
