Ceramics 2

My experience in Ceramics 2 this year was successful. I learned a lot when it came to figuring out how to make certain shapes, and I also learned a lot when it came to learning about the glazes. Ceramics 1 was a lot more of just getting comfortable with clay and learning how clay can be shaped into anything that you want. you learned the steps to making basic structures like cups, and you learned how many layers of glaze you needed for clay so that it would show.

My eccentric teapot was the most challenging project for me, because of all of the small pieces I had to attach to the body. for example the trunk of my elephant, the ears, and the handle. although this project was one of the challenging ones for me, it taught me how to become better at attaching small pieces to a body. it also taught me patience. for this project, I had to wait for a lot for certain parts to get leather hard so it would attach more easily.

The project I am most proud of is the one that challenged me the most. The eccentric teapot. I really liked the way my teapot came out. it is the only project that I like and the color of the glaze I decided with the teapot is my favorite. the glaze is a dark blue with some spots of brown in it, which brings it into a greyish color.

Overall the ceramics 2 class did work well for me. I liked how we got to choose what we wanted to make and just had to add whatever the assignment had assigned. for example, we could make anything we wanted but had to add an alternate material to it.
