For this project, the assignment was to make a five-layer pinch project. it didnt matter what it was or how you made it as long as you used the pinch technique. at first, I found it hard to come up with ideas, I started late to the project, so I was already feeling a bit overwhelmed. Mr. A, then showed me what he did for this project, it was different objects stacked on top of each other, and this is where I got the idea to make my piece of work. I first started by making five individual ovals. All of these ovals are hollow, I took two pieces of clay and put them together to make the oval shape I had desired. after I got all the ovals together I began to stack them. In my mind, I had a feeling that stacking them was going to be hard because I did not think they would stay upright. However I was proven wrong, they stayed upright very easily I barely had to do anything. After they were all stacked together and had my carvings on them I picked out a black glaze. I picked out this black glaze because I wanted it to look unique, i feel not many people use straight black glaze, I was a little scared of the outcome of the glaze, but looking at it now I am so glad I went with the black glaze.
