Reverse Engineering

For this project we were given the task of finding an object and then breaking it down. Through this process of deconstructing it we were to see each of the different components and parts that went into it. Along with this try to understand the manufacturing process behind this object. Once we understood our object after researching the parts we were supposed to come up with a way that we could improve this item from what it was before. TO complete this project we had to make sure we stayed on task and took in depth looks at each components. This allowed us to fully understand what was going on with our object.

In our final project we had a document with our analysis of each part of the project. This broke down all the different parts while also showing our conceptual sketches and blueprints. We also made a slideshow for our presentation to more briefly describe each step for our classmates to easily understand and interpret.

Throughout this project I learned a lot about what I know how to do well and what I can improve on. Firstly one thing I did well was my collaborating with my group. This allowed me and my group mates to understand what each person was doing and also what was going on. This project can be confusing with so many different parts so collaborating with each other is vital and it greatly helped us with our success. The second thing that went well was our problem solving. While trying to research each of the parts of our vacuum we sometimes ran into issues with researching what each part was. With this we were able to help each other and solve our problems together and effectively.

Now even though this project went overall well there are still some areas for improvement. The first thing that I could improve on would be my time management skills. Although we were working hard during the duration of this project I definitely could have put in some more urgency to get things done. I felt like the deadline was so far away at the beginning and only started working harder as the deadline crept forward. The second thing that could use improvement is organization. A lot of the time most of things I was doing was all over the place. I think to improve on this I could attempt to try and tackle one thing at a time rather than a bunch of different tasks. In conclusion There is always room for improvement but I think that this project went really well and I am proud of the outcome.
