During our first semester we started doing weekly drawing tutorials. They consisted of around 3 videos each tutorial and took about 30 minutes to take notes on. They went over simple sketching and ideas like orthographics in the first few weeks. By then end we were learning how to use our ideas on paper and use them in a computer space. These tutorials are very helpful for this class because simple sketches make ideas visible. It allows your group member to see what your thoughts look like.
Throughout these drawings I learned a lot about sketching and what I do well and what I can improve on. Firstly one thing I did well was my collaborating with my group. This allowed me and my group mates to fully understand the purpose and meaning of these drawings. These drawings can be confusing with so many different parts so collaborating with each other is vital and it greatly helped us with our success. The second thing that went well was our problem solving. While doing these drawings we each learned things that helped us improve our drawings and we would then share them with one another in order to improve.
Now even though these drawings went overall well there are still some areas for improvement. The first thing that I could improve on would be my time management skills. Although I was working hard during the duration of this project I definitely could have put in some more urgency to get things done. I felt like the deadline was so far away at the beginning and only started working harder as the deadline crept forward. The second thing that could use improvement is organization. A lot of the time most of the things I was doing were all over the place. I think to improve on this I could attempt to try and tackle one thing at a time rather than a bunch of different tasks. In conclusion There is always room for improvement but I think that these drawings went really well and I am proud of the outcome.
