Many companies will help support charities through a matched giving scheme, whereby they will match gifts donated by their employees. Some companies have formal schemes for matched funding, while others may consider each request on its own merits. In many cases, participating companies will match an employee’s donation pound for pound up to a set amount. A number of organisations will even double-match.
Below is a list of companies which we understand will match the charitable gifts of their employees. If your company is not listed, please contact your Human Resources department to enquire if such a scheme exists. Ask your employer about matched giving
This is a list of employers we know have offered this in the past - if you know of more, please let us know.

Ask your employer if they provide Employer Supported Volunteering - they might have a scheme in place to allow you to take paid leave for a day to support the PTA.
Worried about how to ask? Here's the email I sent my company....
Dear [Employer],
Employer Supported Volunteering
I have over the past number of years been very actively involved in volunteering to support our local primary school, through our PTA, a registered charity. This has helped raise money to support the school and children and been of a positive benefit to the local community. It has also been a positive experience for me providing an opportunity to develop skills including motivating and managing people.
I am writing to ask if [Company Name] would consider facilitating Employer Supported Volunteering within the company. The form of volunteering may vary but a simple example would be to allow paid leave for a day (or more) to volunteer for a charity.
There are a number of resources available providing guidance on how this can work and the benefits of getting involved https://www.cipd.org/uk/knowledge/guides/volunteering-employer-supported-guide. Not only does supporting volunteering benefit society but it can assist in employee retention and morale.
I hope you will give the idea your consideration and would be happy to discuss how it could work for us.
