About the PTA

If you are the parent or guardian of a child attending St Michaels, you are a member of the PTA.  Similarly, if you are employed by the school in a teaching or non-teaching capacity, you are a member.  You have voting rights in PTA meetings and AGMs.  There is no membership fee.

The PTA was set up to raise funds for the school – but that’s not its only role.  It provides a support network to the parent and teacher community, hosts fun activities and events, promotes socialising outside of school hours and keeps a mutually beneficial open line of communication between the parents and Senior Leadership Team (SLT), who are heavily invested in the Association.

The PTA plays an integral role in the St. Michael's community by hosting activities and events that foster a strong parent community, provide enjoyment for the children, and raise funds to enrich the children’s education.

Our most popular events are the Fireworks Display, the Christmas Fair, and the Summer Fete, which see nearly all school children and their families participate.  We also host Autumn and Spring Socials for parents, a Winter Disco for children, and regular playground events like Cake Sales and Second Hand Uniform Sales.

Please see the separate tabs for more details of how the PTA operates and who your current committee members are.  However, the most important thing to take away is that if you are a member of staff or a parent/guardian of a current student, you are automatically a member of the PTA body, and we welcome you with open arms.  Please do join in!

If you want more information or are interested in finding out more about how it works please email pta@stmichaels.wandsworth.sch.uk or visit our Governance page.
