CAS
Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) is part of the IBDP Core and is a compulsory component of the IBDP program. CAS allows balance to the academic demands of the IBDP and teaches the students many important like skills that they will take away with them to university and their future career.
All IBDP students will follow the CAS program and are expected to embrace CAS aims enthusiastically and with a genuine sense of commitment and purpose. In Year 12 students must attend all CAS afternoons as part of their assessment. In Year 13 all the experiences will be accomplished in their own time.
Over the 18 months of CAS, students will complete 3 experiences in each strand of Creativity, Activity and Service plus the CAS project.
These experiences will be carried out by the student either during the CAS rotation afternoons or in their own time.
Students are expected to spend 1-2 hours a week participating in CAS related experiences throughout Y12 + 13.
CAS aims to develop students who:
• enjoy and find significance in a range of CAS experiences
• purposefully reflect upon their experiences
• identify goals, develop strategies and determine further actions for
personal growth
• explore new possibilities, embrace new challenges and adapt to
new roles
• actively participate in planned, sustained and collaborative CAS
projects
• understand they are members of local and global communities
with responsibilities towards each other and the environment.
